…so here are the details for the purse-shaped invitations and purse-shaped boxes I hinted at on this post. I was in charge of an event for the ladies at church. The theme was centered around purses so I made 80 invitations in a purse shape. Here are a few of them. I didn’t have a pattern, so I had to make up one on my own. After I cut it out, I used a Stampin’ Up! jumbo wheel for a quick and easy all-over print. Then I scored and folded over the flap. I punched out a flower, glued it onto the flap, then added more glue to the bottom of the flower and let it dry. The 2-way glue pen is perfect for this step because it is permanent when attached while wet and temporary when allowed to dry. The card can be opened and closed repeatedly!
I printed the invitations directly onto the white card stock first, and then cut them out. You could put ribbon or something for a handle, but since I was passing them out at church and some would be mailed, I opted not to do this. They were a big hit as is! Here is the inside, although it’s a terrible picture, you get the idea.
Now, for the really cute stuff! I also made, with help, 48 of these favors, which were used as centerpieces for the tables, along with pastel colored balloons. When the event was over, everyone got to keep one. Inside was shredded white paper and Hershey’s Kisses in pastel colors. I used a Stampin’ Up! template which I printed directly onto the back of patterned paper. I used baby boy and baby girl themed papers so that everything would coordinate. The yellow and green ribbon is from the SAB ribbon bundle. The others were bought at a store since I didn’t have the right colors, which I attached to the inside using sticky strip. I had this big bag of mixed rhinestones which I attached using mini glue dots. The scallops were time consuming because I punched 7 1/2″ circles from coordinating paper and glued them along the edge. Here’s a close-up: Oh, I forgot to mention that I attached velcro circles, cut in half to attach the flap. Truly, they were adorable and loved by all! Here is the template for the purse box: purse-template.
For those of you who asked, I thank you for your interest and for being so patient!

I realize it’s been a while since you posted this, but I hope my thanks & admiration for what you did is still timely. I’m doing a WM lunch at my church and the theme is purses. The favor idea is just what I neede. I’m doing the centerpieces using real purses with pots of flowers, scarves, necklaces, etc., and we will be doing a purse exchange as a fundraiser (don’t like to do too many fundraisers so really want it to be special), with nice, donated purses which the ladies will put their own prices on. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful ideas and gift.
