I’ve had these flowers (that I cut out with my Big Shot from pages of an old Italian book I picked up at Goodwill) forever on my desk. So I was determined to put them on something!
I got the inspiration from this card. I hadn’t used the Pick a Petal stamp set in so long so, decided to go with that. I love making a partial flower with it. The sentiment is actually from a retired rub-ons package, and the tie in the button is just a sliver of Very Vanilla card stock. I decided to use the rope twine, since the paper flowers were closer to that color.
I’m not sure why I don’t like this card all that much. I think it’s the colors with the flowers – too bright? The original card uses Chocolate Chip cs, and I used black textured (which you can’t really tell in the photo, unless you click for a larger view). Or is it that I stamped the petals backwards? I always do that! But I’m not re-doing it. Oh well.
Thanks for stopping by today!
{thanks a bunch ingredients}

And before I leave, I confess I’ve neglected to address 3 awards recently (or not-so-recently) bestowed upon me, so I must say thank you now to:
Lorna at Stickernut Stamps! gave me this award:
1. give away the award to five other wonderful bloggers…
2. write down five things you are addicted to!
Five wonderful bloggers:
1. Megan at Megan Lock Designs – she has some amazing designs (and lives in my home state of Oklahoma!)
2. Aly at Stampin’ w/ Aly! – I just discovered her blog and love it – she’s a serious SU! demo.
3. Amy at Ink About Me – the card I made today was inspired by one of hers.
4. Jen at Torn Paper – WOW! She’s up there with so many other fab designers!
5. Teneale Williams – An amazing demo from Australia!
Five things I am addicted to:
1. paper (hence my email address – paper_addict@msn.com)
2. Diet Coke (or Pepsi) w/ lemon – has to be fountain, no cans or bottles
3. reading stamping blogs – I don’t leave as many comments as I’d like, or I’d never get anything else done!
4. very recently, buttons – I might be guilty of cutting them off our used clothing before donating them…shameful!
5. stamps – which is why I’m a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator (Oh, the new catalog is killing me!)
I received this next award from one of my favorite bloggers in France, Sophie! Her clean style is fantastic and can be appreciated in all languages. Go visit her blog and give her some love!
There were no rules given to me, but I would like to bestow this award to the following. I {heart} all of your blogs!:
1). Display the award on your site.
2). Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3). Give the award to 8 more people.
4). Notify them of receiving the award.
5). Advise them to pick it up at your site.
Following is the translation of the Portuguese words and the rules for the award:
“This blog award invests and believes in proximity -(creating friendships)!” [meaning, that blogging makes us ‘close’ -being close through proxy]. These are the other words to be included with the award:
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbon of these awards are cut, even more friendships are propagated.
Please give more attention to these bloggers!
Deliver this award to 8 bloggers who must choose 8 more and include this written text into the body of their award.
I love that card! It’s funky and fun. I love the color combonation too. I guess everyone has different taste, but I think you did a wonderful job. Isn’t Aly’s blog the best….such great ideas.

Where in Buffalo are you?? I’m in Rochester, NY and we actually just moved from Buffalo about a year and a half ago. We were in North Buffalo off Hertel, near the Kenmore/Buffalo/Tonawanda town lines. What a small world!!!

Jackie, jackie, jackie – OH MY…! You blew me away today with your award! I don’t think SU will alow me to post it but THANK YOU so much. I just can’t believe you’ve included me with such a wonderful talented group of gals. I’m in awe. I’m definitely floating today Girl Friend! Maybe I can write about it in my journal. Must try tomorrow!
As for your card – It’s fabulous, as are all of your creations! I love the die cut book print flower and I don’t think your petals are backwards. I don’t think the image would have looked right with them facing the other direction.
I enjoyed reading and visiting all of your award blogs. FABULOUS!
Thanks so much,

Jackie,
You captured the Italian spirit in this lovely card with it’s bold colors and bit of funk. I love the petals done the other way round too. Never would have occured to me and I like it so much better than the usual.
Thanks for sharing and leading me to some more terrific blogs! My cats however may never forgive you as I just spent the last 2 hours surfing your picks instead of cuddling up with the fur faces in bed! – lol! Bad Mama, bad mama seems to be the mantra!

Wow Jackie, you are critical of yourself- I think this card is the BOMB! The bold colors are what really make it, plus the flower petals look amazing that way! The layout and addition of the rope- just perfection together (and obviously I’m not the only one who feels that way!!)
