Well, Sale-a-Bration is coming to a close soon…March 17th is the last day to order and receive your free items! I thought I’d show you a card using one of the cute sets in the brochure.
I learned how to do this easy pop-up card at my upline’s meeting last week. Thanks, Diane! I’ve never made a pop-up card before because I thought it looked involved, but when she showed us how using the Word Window punch, I just had to try it (thanks, Jeannie for letting me borrow your punch!). Here’s how to do it: This card is a standard sized card (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). Cut a piece of cardstock for the inside to 5″ x 8″. Score in half. Take your word window punch and center it over the fold to punch out a window. In my photo, I used a black marker to show the fold better. Make sure you put your paper all the way to the bottom of the punch. Turn around and punch the other side in the same way. It may help to mark your punch with an indication of where exactly the middle is, but since this isn’t my punch it isn’t marked.
Make a score line from the end of each window using a stylus. I again used a marker to show these lines.
Next bend these 2 lines inward as you also bend the middle one back, like this:
Stamp on this piece as desired, then glue to the card base. I used the Mono Multi to make sure it stays. Just be sure not to glue the middle popped-up part down! Next glue image you want popped up to the bottom front piece of the inside. I just put glue on that part and stuck on my image to insure I don’t put extra glue where it’s not needed.
I hope you enjoy making one yourself!
Stamps: Birthday Whimsey (Sale-a-Bration set), Polka Dot, One of a Kind (small flower); Paper: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Old Olive cs, Soft Sky Doubled Sided DS paper; Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun (also used a marker), VersaMark, Basic Black; Accessories: Word Window punch, Boho Blossoms punch, 2-way glue pen, Cosmo glitter, silver brad, Stampin’ Dimentional
Edited to add: I see I spelled “Designed by….” wrong on the last photo! Oops!
What a SMART way to make a pop-up card! Although I love to make pop-ups, I seem to avoid them because I don’t like having to measure for them. This super idea would take that little roadblock out of the way. Very nice card too, by the way. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
