Hi Everyone! I know it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything I’ve created. I made a ton of cards for Christmas, and didn’t photograph any of them. There were 90! My husband was in China & Japan for 2 weeks before Christmas and it made things a bit harder than usual around here. When he got back, together we created the labels, signed the cards, and did all the things necessary to get them OUT! We were on a roll, and it was late at night when we finished, so I didn’t take any photos. Bummer. And I’ve made stuff prior to Christmas, just haven’t posted them, either. So I decided to make sure to put this card on my blog.

It’s from the Lots of Happy card kit, which will be in the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog. It’s adorable! I fell in love with it right away. Well, let’s be honest, there is a LOT to love about that new catalog. It includes 4 of the pretty watercolor pencils – 2 of which are exclusive to the kit – Lemon Lime Twist & Flirty Flamingo. And I love that SU! offers refills to this kit as well. The Occasions Catalog will be available online, and for ordering, on 1/3/18.

OH! here’s a tip for you. I stamped the flower/leaves image onto the envelope from the kit. But when I colored it with the watercolor pencils, the black ink smeared. It looked awful. So my fix was to stamp again, using Memento ink onto Whisper White card stock, then cut it out around the black lines, then glued it right over the messy one. Worked like a charm. So keep that in mind, if you stamp on the envelope using the Basic Black ink spot that’s included in the kit (or if using a Basic Black ink pad), it.will.smear. I can’t say for sure stamping on the envelope with Memento ink won’t smear when using the pencils, but maybe test it out. I’m not really sure if it’s the ink, envelope, or both. Hope that helps!

I want to wish you all a Happy New Year! Thanks for sticking with me. I hope to post more creations more often. You see, I really enjoy posting to my blog. It’s weird. I’ve thought about letting it go, but I just can’t. I know many have jumped ship, likely due to lack of posts. Things are just different right now, but I still want to post, LOL.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by today!

I don’t know why I love his stamp set and coordinating papers so much, I think it’s just cute! I CASEd the card on page 40 of the new catalog, with only minor changes. The ribbon I used, I bought long ago, and it just matched so well.

This stamp set is great for your masculine cards, which always seem to be more difficult for me to come up with.

Sunflower smiles

I CASEd this card, but made it a bit easier. The original card used 12 squares, die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Instead of using 6 black and 6 white, I used 6 white squares and added those on top of a piece of DSP, cutting in half the amount of time running paper through the Big Shot. The card on the left uses the gold mini sequin trim, and the one on the right is like the original, using some baker’s twine I had in my stash. I just love the versatility of the Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies – with a tiny bit of cutting, you can make a sunflower!
