When I saw the Petite Pocket die in the new catalog, I knew it would be one of the first things I’d order. Why? I just love cute little holders that can be personalized, especially if they are easy to make. Being that it’s a die, there is no measuring, cutting, or scoring as long as you have the Big Shot.
I made this little one very quickly with Very Vanilla card stock. The stamping is done on the side with the flap, and the back is left blank. But you could totally add whatever you wanted on there as well. The die comes with 2 little circles, so that you could attach one to the flap, and one to the main portion and then tie a string or ribbon around it for a traditional closure. On mine, the flap is closed by using temporary adhesive, either a little Dotto or a small spot of Tombo Multi-purpose glue, left to let dry before closing the flap. If you do it this way, it’s temporary, rather than permanent.
Here is what it looks like with the flap open. There is enough room in there to put money, a photo, or a note – anything roughly 2″ x 4″ in size. The total size when closed is 2 3/16″ x 4 1/4″.
I used the Artistic Etchings stamp set, along with Nature Walk (no. 147), and Flores Suaves (words as background on the flap). I spritzed the bottom portion with a Chocolate Chip marker. I tied the ribbon around the flap before adhering it to the side tabs to close. That way it’s not going to move, like it would if I had just wrapped it around the entire card.
I don’t know why, but when I minimize the photos for proper size on the post, they come out fuzzy. If you click on each photo, you will see them in their true clear and larger size. Not sure what’s up with that, but it always bugs me. Thanks for stopping by today!
