I know I haven’t been around a lot lately. I’ll just blame it on summer, which we finally started having around here!
This month’s theme for our card club swap (a fun bunch of local friends) was either, “just because” or “friends”. I saw almost the same card by Melissa Phillips (LOVE hers, but for the life of me cannot find the exact one, but here is her blog link) and since I have that adorable owl stamp (I won it a long time ago) I decided to CASE it for the swap. I used other papers as well, but here is the one I used with Stampin’ Up! papers. (click photo for a larger view)
I got mad at myself when I was glueing all those small, skinny letters on there! I won’t do that again – use these letters on a swap. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love this sizzlit die, and I even tried using my Zyron first before running them through the Big Shot, but it was such a pain getting the backing off of each one. Sheesh! Oh well, they are done and I’m happy with them.
I made the little flower with a die from Provo Craft I’ve had for a long time (not sure…is that a Cuttlebug die? It only says PC on it), and the center is made with a 1/2″ circle punch folded around with my fingernail. I just cut the stem freehand with scissors. The ribbon is attached on each end with a few sewing machine stitches – the most nerve racking part for me! The sewing machine is NOT my friend. It is a bully and I’m terrified of it!
Thanks for stopping by today!
