Here’s a card made into the shape of a house, because my friend just moved. I didn’t have an appropriate sentiment for a new home, so I just used the “thinking of you”. I just love the simplicity of these Trendy Trees! I can’t get enough of them.
I used the Texturz embossing plate on the triangle that became the roof to mimic shingles. I tied the floss through the card by poking a small whole with my paper piercer into the fold. The card base measures 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ and the roof is attached with Stampin’ Dimentionals to the top front of it.
Tip: since you have to use the SAMJ (Stamp-a-majig) to line up these trees with their trunks, I make permanent sheets with each of the stamped images and keep them in the same box as the stamps. I use the vellum card stock by SU! and cut it so that it fits inside the box. This is also very useful for alphabet sets. For this set, I wish I had used something lighter, like a green for the trees on my imaging sheet. It would be easier to see when lining them up over the tree trunks. What ink do I use? Use whatever. I used Black Stazon on this set, but I have also used Basic Black and it worked just fine. Just make sure it dries completely or it might smudge. Thanks for stopping by today!

LOVE the card! Great idea on having permanent image sheets! I’ve made them up ahead of time for classes, but never thought to keep them in the stamp box! Very clever!

Hi, Jackie! It’s a great tip that I use me too. But I use the place mat bought at Dollar store. How nice is the idea to use cardstock vellum…

Awesome Jackie!
Reminds me of a lovely bird feeder/birdhouse or the gazebo I’ve been wanting for the back pasture so I can look out at the hillside full of trees (the hill hides a now defunct goldmine from 1800’s I like to dream is mine :D)
Texturing the roof really makes the card pop!

Jackie,
Where the heck was I? It seems that I’ve missed a lot of your posts. I think I need to take a good look at my Google Reader… First of all, this card is so awesome. I love the idea of the embossed roof. Wow, I’m amazed a your originality.
And thank you so much for the tip about the Stamp-a-ma-jig. I will do that too!!!
