I have been wanting to make cards with this adorable stamp set since I got it, when the catalog first came out. I finally did. I sent the birthday card to my son, whose birthday is today! It’s that time of year, when we have to say “goodbye” to many items in the Annual Catalog, and Occasions Catalog, in order to make room for NEW items! You can skip straight to the matter, by clicking here…but also, here are the deets:

Main Information:

• Promotion dates: April 10–May 31, 2017
• No minimum purchase required.
• Retiring items are eligible for Stampin’ Rewards with qualifying orders of $150 or more (U.S.).

A few Easter goodies + important announcement (retiring list comes out today!)

My son is over 1,500 miles away from home at school. He comes home the end of April for the summer, but in the meantime, he has a birthday, and there is also Easter in the same week. I made him a birthday card, which I’ll post later on, and some Easter love you see here.

I made a few sour cream containers, and added candy in each one. I used the retired Nursery Suite Specialty DSP, since there were bunnies on it! I also sent him a gift card to one of his favorite places and put it in this gift card holder. The sentiment is from retired Easter Blossoms stamp set. I realized I don’t have any Easter stamp sets, other than this. Looks like I need to remedy that!

And now I’m craving cupcakes!

I HAD to use this SAB stamp set again for a birthday card for a special friend, because it’s just so stinkin’ cute.

I stamped the truck with Basic Black ink, then watercolored it using ink and an aqua painter. I put some sparkle on the cupcake icing with the clear Wink of Stella brush. After I had assembled my card, I added the little flags onto the truck with a smooshed-up glue dot. I enjoy cutting out elements to add to a card – they just add a little somethin’-somethin’, so it’s worth it!

Can we TACO ‘BOUT it?

I think this little Tasty Trucks stamp set is the cutest! There are tacos, hotdogs, ice cream, cupcakes – what a fun set. And there is one image that looks like a plate of pancakes? At first I thought it was a cake, haha. Well anyway, it’s one of the choices this year for SAB (Sale-A-Bration). It was my first choice – free with a $50 order (before tax and shipping) until 3/31/17. Click here for the brochure, which has several more choices of items to choose from. AND now there are 3 more items available, which were just released on 2/21/17. Looks like I’ll have to order again…I must have that glimmer paper! I had fun making these 2 cards and coloring them with watercolor pencils, which SU! has brought back – yay! I stamped the taco truck onto Crumb Cake card stock and colored the truck in the middle with watercolor pencils. I used the retired watercolored pencils, but if you need to purchase some now, please use this link, rather than the one below. For the sentiment, I stamped the truck onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, colored just the area for the sentiment w/ a green watercolor pencil, then blended with a blender pen. Then I stamped the sentiment, cut it out, and added it to the truck w/ glue. It looks so much better that way.

I hope these fun cards make the recipients smile. 🙂

Sponging the sea

I wanted to do something similar to this amazing card. I tried a couple of times using watercolor paper and my water brush…but I gave up! I was so bummed. Then I remembered I could try to sponge the ink instead and am very happy with the results, even though this is not the greatest photo (dreary day when I photographed it). I still think it looks prettier to watercolor it, but I’ll have to practice that in the meantime!

I’ve been creating, I just haven’t taken the time to post my stuff – or even photograph some of it. Please forgive me. 3 Hallowe’en cards

I made 3 cards using the same layout. I was inspired by the bag on page 52 of the Holiday Catalog. I mixed up papers and sentiments because I thought the Halloween Night Specialty DSP and all the stamps in the Spooky Fun stamp set were just too great to only do one! And then it was nice to have 3 different cards to send out. See below for the 2 additional cards.

I most definitely believe that when we have happy thoughts, we can have happy days. Even in spite of our trials.

This card uses all retired product, but I hadn’t shared it before, so rather than go another possibly extended length of time without posting, I decided to share it. It’s a great layout that showcases patterned paper. The card base is recycled from a group of really old fashioned cards set I came across, and rather than throw it away, I covered the inside panel with my own paper. Do any of you ever do that?
