Moving and Shaping again

Welcome Little One star2I just had to do another card with my Movers & Shapers Bigz die.  This time I used the star shape, from the additional set of 4 dies, called Punch Windows Movers & Shapers.  I have a whole package of the retired Sweet Slumber Specialy paper and was dying to use it.  Its thicker weight and double-sided goodness make it a dream to work with.  As in my last card, I added a little bit of contrasting paper to the front before cutting it out.  And even though the paper is thicker, and I have 2 layers of it, because it is a Bigz die, it easily punches through with no problems.  You couldn’t do that with the punch!  I just love the soft, unisex colors of the Kraft & So Saffron.  I added a textured Whisper White border on the front (this time my card front is the same length as the back, lol!), along with sentiment and matching button & ribbon.  The inside, although is Baja Breeze blue, is really all about the clouds, so I still think this could be a unisex card.Welcome Little One star inside2  (click photos for larger views)

Tip:  The M & S dies are made to cut and score your card for you, when you place a 6″ x 12″ piece of card stock on it.  But I don’t always have 12″ x 12″ paper, and like to get 2 cards out of one 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet, so you can use a half sheet of card stock and just line it up where you see the cut lines.  It will fit perfectly.  Just make sure when you run it through the Big Shot that you send the back side through the machine first, and the cut out piece goes through last.  Then your paper shouldn’t move on you like I heard it can sending it through the other way.

For the inside star, I lost a battle with my Craft So Saffron ink spot when the pad popped off the plastic and onto my black pants.  So…I had to instead stamp in regular So Saffron ink first, then again in VersaMark ink, then applied my clear embossing powder and heat set it.  This makes it stand out much more.  I don’t have the large star punch (gasp!) so I just cut it out carefully and glued it onto the inside.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and sharing your comments, when you feel so inclined!  It makes my day!
