I made a gift card holder for my boss from all of us. I used the Large Owl from Hero Arts (which I was lucky enough to WIN), for the front, but the rest is from Stampin’ Up!, including the papers and inks. I stamped the front image in brown Stazon ink and watercolored it with an aquapainter and re-inkers. I was in a hurry because at first I colored one with Bravo Burgundy, but it turned out looking too girly because the toned down portions of that color is really pinkish. So I started over with Always Artichoke. Here’s the inside:
To make the gift card holder, just cut a piece of card stock to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 3″ on both ends and then also in the middle at 5 1/2″. Fold like a “W” and then punch out a long slot in the middle using the word window punch. I used Tombo Multi glue on the fold and really held it tight until it dried. It’s not going anywhere now. I left the 2 inside pages blank for us all to sign our b-day wishes. Dr. D. loves Cabellas – he’s quite the outdoorsman, so we got him a gift card from there. Thanks for stopping by today!

Jackie,
Very cute gift card holder! Thanks so much for the great instructions. I’ve seen some before but don’t recall noting the measurements and scoring details.
By the way if you see any owl fabrics at fabricworm you like let me know the yardage you need for your passport holder. The next time we’re visiting I’ll pick it up and send it to you – My treat!
