Each month I give my stamp club girls a challenge of some kind. Sometimes I give them an item to use on a project, sometimes I have them do a certain technique or use a certain something on a project, and bring it to stamp club for a chance to win a small prize. This month’s challenge is to do some kind of sewing – whether it’s with a sewing machine, like I did here on this card for my former Tennessee neighbor, hand sewing, or even faux stitching.
I saw this card (2nd one) and thought it would make an excellent masculine card. I opted not to do a pop-up on the inside of mine (but dang, isn’t hers adorable!?). So wanting to use my Stampin’ Up! stash, I used the tree from Forest Friends and decided not to ink up the leaves in green. I used the retired In-Color River Rock, stamping it off once, for the background trees. And the thread is scrapper’s floss from Karen Foster, which I got in my April mini kit from CUPCARDS {to go}. It’s neat because it’s made of paper! Card measures 4 1/4″ square.
Thanks for stopping by – be sure to come back on Easter Sunday as I’ll have an Easter card, and a birthday card for my son!

This is so simple and pretty!
I will totally let you know next time I’m in town.
It was a very QUICK trip. I had to go to a wedding….that took up most of Saturday. I flew in Friday afternoon and left Sunday! Really quick. That would be a blast to meet you, though. I will definitely let you know!!
Great card! What kind of sewing machine do you use for your cards? I’ve seen a smaller one specific for small craft projects at WalMart, but wasn’t sure if this was worth the money.
Just perfect, love that set. You do wonderful examples!
Oooooooh, and I love this one too! Love the stitching. Love the simplicity of it.
