Here’s a bit of advice: Don’t got out and get a drastic new haircut just before going to your first Stampin’ Up! convention, where you will meet lots of new-found blogging friends and stamping idols! I took a picture of a fellow blogger with me to get my hair cut (I will not mention her name because you will know her and be shocked at how far off my hair is from her cute do!). Now, I really love my stylist, Shelly. And I know she won’t read my blog so I can say how disappointed I am in what I’ve done! Dang, I thought I was gonna be so cute and I just hate it. I think I needed an additional head of hair for mine to have looked like hers. I’m so sad. You will not be seeing a picture of it if I can help it!
The happy news is, I was nominated by the awesome Michelle of 2{stamp}is2b for an award! Thanks, Michelle! You should go check out her stuff – it’s great!

For the You’ve Been Tagged award, I have to share 7 random facts about me and then tag 7 others. Ok, here are the 7 random facts about me:
1. This is the first time in my life I think I’ve ever had hair this short! Ok, moving on….
2. I speak fluent Japanese. Maybe I should say I used to. It’s been so many years since I have. I was a missionary for my church and learned Japanese when I was 22 because I lived there for 1 1/2 years. I lived there again for another 1 1/2 years with my husband (see #3). I love the Japanese people so much! They are so humble and friendly. I used to dream in Japanese!
3. I met my husband in Hiroshima, Japan because we were both serving there on our missions.
4. I am not very organized. I hate to admit it here because I know a lot of you are! I want to be more like you all so maybe I should start with that!
5. I hate fish. I do not like the seafood taste. About the only thing I can eat from the sea is tuna, and it has to be mixed with relish, onion, celery & mayo. It made things hard for living in Japan!
6. I touched Bono’s sweaty arm once! Before they were very famous, I went to a U2 concert in Oklahoma City. It was a very small venue and during the concert, while he was walking through the rows of the crowd, my friends and sister pushed me toward him and so I touched his arm! Wow!
7. I like salt and pepper on my cantaloupe. I don’t eat it this way very much anymore, but when I was a kid someone must have taught me to eat it this way because I loved it! It’s good! I eat salt on my grapefruit, too! It’s the only way I’ll eat it!
Ok, now my job is to tag 7 more bloggers! Let’s see, it’s hard to choose only 7 but here goes:
1. Chiara, my newfound friend from Italy, at kykyscraps
2. Jill, at Jill’s Card Creations
3. Deb, at Stamps and Smiles
4. Cheryl, at God and I on The Railroad Tracks
5. Dawn, at DOstamping with Dawn
6. Another Dawn, at Perrywinkle Press
7. Dahlene, at Simply Thoughtful Cards
I’m sorry I don’t have a new card to show you, but I’ve got to finish my swaps for convention! I’ll try to do something soon and post it! Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Love your random facts Jackie! I eat my cantaloupe with salt and pepper too! I wonder how common that is. My little guy and I are into bento lunches…I would love to visit Japan just to shop for bento boxes and accessories, much less the culture and scenery!
Interesting read, Jackie!! Bono??? Awesome!!
I’m sorry you don’t like your haircut, but I’m sure everyone will love you anyhow! You’re just too sweet NOT to love. *wink*
It was so fun to read about your life! Thank you for tagging me and your are not alone on the salt thing, maybe the pepper though. I love salt as well. I hope you have so much fun at convention especially for it being your first.
Thank you very much for the awards..!
I don’t know what is cantaloupe, but now i will “google” it
hugs
Disappointed hair cut…been there. What’s good is, it will grow out. I’ve never put salt and pepper on my cataloupe, but I have done salt on my watermelon.
Interesting facts…LOL
I want to see your hair, Jackie!!!! Post a pic, front and back. Seriously, is it that bad ???
I just had mine cut and it went 3″ too short! Give me 2 months Ill be happy, and Im a stinkin hairdresser too! Not sposed to happen to us!!! lol
Have fun at convention! Post lots of goodies!!
Hugs!
Fun Facts! I love learning these types of things about folks! Hope the convention is great! I can’t wait to see your new do! It’s probably super cute, you just have to get used to it!
I know the feeling of hating your new cut. I just did and I had to go get it cut again because I thought I was looking at my sister when I looked at myself in the mirror (and my husband thought I looked as if I had dog ears). The cut wasn’t really that bad but just not me. Anyway I hate to break the news to you but your new cut makes you look much younger and I prefer it. I know you don’t know me from adam but I think it looks great. As I always say… it’s only hair and it will always grow back. You can always go shorter
Best of luck
Hi Jackie, I love your blog! You are very talented. I also served a mission in Japan (Tokyo North). I have pretty much lost most of my Japanese.
