It’s the reason I haven’t put anything on my blog lately – I’ve been filling an order of cards for a friend of mine and using some non-Stampin’ Up! stuff. I am always torn about whether or not to show them on my blog, since first and foremost I’m a SU! Demonstrator and my blog started out to be mainly for my customers, yet I do realize it has evolved to include so many more viewers. But it’s not like my customers don’t know I shop around on occassion anyway. And this card does use plenty of SU! items!
I used a page from a book and sanded it a bit with a sanding block and then sponged around the edges to give it an older look. I found this idea and layout from I think the Hero Arts website, or perhaps from one of their designers’ blog…can’t remember. Anyway, I thought it looked cool and different. I distressed the edges of the Old Olive mat around it with the edge distressing tool from the Cutter Kit.
I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I’ve posted last, so I decided to go ahead and show this card I made for the order. I hope you like it! By the way, you can visit Jan’s blog by clicking on her name on the right sidebar.
Oh! Since I just reached over 15,000 hits I’m going to be offering my first ever blog candy SOON! So stay tuned and when I decide what it’s going to be I’ll let you know. Thanks for stopping by!
