Here’s a gift card holder that I made for my beautiful girl! She turns 16 today – my how time flies! Normally one would put a gift card in the middle slot, but I decided to put her “new” car key tied with ribbon sticking out of the slot instead. She has no idea we got a steal on a used car and got it for her! I can’t wait to see her face!
I got the idea for the gift card holder here. I made my own template for the slot. I used chipboard from the Blossom & Basics kit, which will be on special starting today (see the sidebar for more information), and covered it with the Afternoon Tea paper. I removed the heart and put a coordinating paper behind it.
Tip #1: When adhering the card stock together for the slot, I used the Tombo Multi Purpose glue just on the very edge and held it down with all my fingers for at least a full minute to ensure it dried. That won’t come apart now!
Tip #2: When using the Sticky Cuts Letters, you can punch them out from the sheet and instead of taking off the white adhesive backing like the directions say, you can just use the same glue as above and apply it to the back, then to your projects. This gives you a little “give” time, whereas if you remove the backing you’d better not make a mistake in placement because that stuff is super-sticky and will not be moveable!
Thanks for looking!
