Here’s a card we made at our Opportunity Night (a night where customers can come to learn about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator) last week. This card is almost exactly the same as the one we made. I added the scallop to the strip in the middle of the card, and used a different papers, but other than that it’s the same. This was hard to photograph so you could see that there is a hole in the front where you can see the smaller bird inside!
I love how we used the punches to add a focal point! To make the yellow scallop, first punch a 1 3/8″ circle in the Apricot Appeal. Then line up the circle in the middle of the scallop circle punch. I layed this onto the Naturals White card stock and put a small dot in the middle so I knew where to punch the hole on the card front. I used my Stamp-a-majig for placement of the birds, hats, and sentiments, although one bird inside looks like he’s losing his hat! Oh well. I colored the birds with re-inkers and my aquapainter, using the Naturals White card stock instead of Whisper White, as I find it takes the watercoloring technique better. I should have used StazOn because on a couple of the birds the ink ran when I got a little too heavy with the water. I stamped the small bird directly onto the Soft Sky paper, then again onto a scrap of Naturals White, colored him, cut him out (cut off his legs), and glued him over the stamped image.

All the birds are so cute! I love the peek hole too!! Great card, Jackie!!
